ASHKENOISE

is a new Israeli klezmer big band with roots in the classic pre-war sound from New York and Eastern Europe. Ashkenoise doesn't stop there- their repertoire includes new klezmer from a jazz perspective, as well as original settings of 20th Century Yiddish poetry by such beloved poets as Avraham Sutskever and Moyshe Leyb Halpern. With a roster of Israel's top jazz and ethnic musicians, and led by Davka violinist and composer, Daniel Hoffman, Ashkenoise is the next step in new Ashkenazi music. The 7-piece band includes Dani Benedict on drums, Ben Danzig on bass, Kobi Solomon on reeds, Vitaly Podolsky on Accordion, Gershon Waiserfirer on valve trombone, and Arad Yeni on trumpet.
